Balotelli signed a "multi-year contract", according to Brescia, who indicated that he will present his new player on Monday, adding: "Mario is returning home. Returning to Italy after an absence of 3 years was made possible by Mario's determination and enthusiasm to return to Brescia, the city where he grew up."
Balotelli, who was born in Sicily but was adopted and raised near Brescia, has reportedly agreed to sign a three-year contract with the Serie A champions after he parted from Marseille in June.
But Balotelli's involvement with Brescia could be postponed for four matches due to suspension, which means he will not defend his new team's shirt until the September 25th match against Juventus, the league champions for the last eight seasons.
Sky Sports Italia reported that Balotelli will receive 3 million euros for the first season, plus another 3 million if the team stays in the first division, and then will receive 6 million in each of the other two seasons of his contract with the condition of playing in the first division.
Balotelli, 29, was a candidate to move to Brazilian Flamengo, but preferred to move to the city where he grew up.
Balotelli, who has made 36 international appearances, hopes to shine with his new team in order to boost his chances of returning to his country, who have been absent for nearly a year, specifically since playing in the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Poland in September 2018.
